I don’t know about you, but I always find men the hardest to buy for. Every Christmas I am bursting with ideas for my sister, my mum and my friends, but when it comes to your partner or worse, your Dad, it can often be much more tricky. I personally struggle with my Dad in particular as it feels like he already owns everything he wants! So, to make life easier this year, here are a few ideas to get your Christmas shopping started…
Definitely a classic in the present-buying world, but a fragrance is a great option for post ages. Whether it be the classic CK One or a much newer scent, there is something for everyone. I picked up these two scents from The Perfume Shop, who make present-buying much easier. They have a great website, but I personally find that the in-store experience works best for me. Explain the age, style or similar scents that your Dad/husband/cousin/friend/brother usually wears and their staff will help you to find the perfect gift. They offer fragrances for all budgets, with fantastic gift sets, free gifts with purchases and even a gift wrapping service. (AND don’t forget to collect your reward card points whilst you’re there!)
If you’re looking for a new scent for him, try Hugo Boss The Scent which is £45 for 50ml and is available HERE (and they are currently giving away a free weekend bag with this fragrance). Alternatively, James Bond 007 Seven which is £24.99 for 50ml and is available HERE (and they’re currently giving away a free cocktail shaker!)
We then have two fantastic pieces by Jockey – classic checked pyjamas (which really have a Christmassy feel) and the softest pair of boxers I have ever come across! The boxers are apparently known as Short Trunks and are available for £18. These trouser pyjamas are perfect for the winter months and are timeless, American-style classic. The set costs £58. These gifts are great as they are suitable for most ages and most tastes!
The men in my life are all just boys deep down, so I love buying silly things for them at Christmas. You can buy them the most expensive gadget, but they’ll be equally, if not more excited by something daft. I’ve picked up a couple of bits from Marks & Spencer – a traditional pinball game and a cracker shaped game which contains a game called ‘doodle wars‘. These make the perfect stocking fillers and I believe are on a 3 for 2 offer at the moment.
We then have Desktop golf, which I know will make an appearance after Christmas dinner, and a novelty light up Star Wars key ring. The key ring may look like its for a child, but my Dad is obsessed with everything Star Wars and Marvell, so it’s the perfect addition to his Christmas present!
Men seem to love gadgets, but many can be hugely expensive and out of your Christmas budget. To compensate, go for something like a portable charger – something practical that they can team with their favourite electronics.
Now, unfortunately my boyfriend spotted these delicious biscuits, and is desperate to demolish both boxes in one sitting. (He doesn’t yet know that I’ve already taken photos, so he’s allowed to tuck in!) Walkers have been the go-to brand for shortbread for years, but the family-run company has recently launched a gluten-free range, enabling people with coeliac disease stop enjoy them too. Sometimes gluten-free food has very little flavour, or the texture is strange, but I can honestly say that these gluten-free shortbread biscuits are delicious.
I hope this has helped to inspire your Christmas shopping! Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Have you found any exciting presents for him this year?
