Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipstick Review

Now if there’s a makeup item I’m obsessed with, it’s lipstick; matte lipsticks especially. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard about the launch of the brand new matte lipstick range from Rimmel London.

I believe I bought my first ever lipstick from Rimmel (does Heather Shimmer ring a bell to anyone?) They’re always such great quality for affordable prices, so I’ve collected a number of their lipsticks over the years.

Just in time for matte lipstick season (well, they’re essential for Autumn/Winter), Rimmel have launched a range of beautiful matte lipsticks to tempt with with. There are 9 shades in The Only 1 Matte collection, which encompasses your nudes, pinks, brights and darks. In fact, the only shade I’m not personally too keen on is the purple ‘Run The Show’ shade on the right, as it’s not really my style.

Each shade is incredibly deep in colour and well pigmented – one swipe will bring you the richest shade. They also apply beautifully and glide across the lips with ease, unlike many other matte lipsticks.

In terms of longevity, their lasting power is impressive – HOURS! And they pretty much stay perfectly in position when you eat. Despite being matte in finish, they don’t dry out your lips – it actually feels as if you’re wearing lip balm.

My favourite shades are Trendsetter (the nude on the left) which is perfect for low-key day-to-day looks, and great for pairing with a dramatic, smokey eye, and also Look Who’s Talking, which is a rich and warm brown/berry tone!

Each lipstick costs £6.99 each.

Which is your favourite shade?
