Just before Christmas, John Lewis partnered me up with the lovely Kirstie from A Little Crisp to take part in a blogger gifting swap. Unfortunately Kirstie is not someone I have yet had the pleasure of meeting, but I have spent a lot of time admiring her gorgeous blog and Instagram account in particular. Kirstie blogs about her beautiful daughter Emilia and describes herself as both a motherhood and lifestyle blogger, hoping to branch out into fashion and interiors later this year. I’d thoroughly recommend a read of her blog!
John Lewis is often my go-to when it comes to buying a special gift for someone. Whether it’s a little online order, or spending hours browsing in my local store, I’m always guaranteed to find the perfect present (often for myself too, I must admit). In fact, my Mum always jokingly refers to John Lewis as ‘the mother ship’!
The John Lewis website has a huge gifting department which has a wonderful collection of gifts for every taste. I noticed from Kirstie’s blog and Instagram in particular that she has a flawless white/cream home with neutral colours – it looks so peaceful! I immediately thought that I’d like to buy her a scented candle to match her home. As a mother of a young child, I also thought that Kirstie probably gets very little time to herself, so I wanted to choose gifts which she could really enjoy as a bit of a treat. So, as well as a Katie Loxton candle (cotton, jasmine and amber scent) which read ‘relax’, I chose a small Stackers white jewellery box which I hoped would match her home perfectly.
In many photos on Kirstie’s Instagram feed, I noticed she wears a fairly neutral palette of colours – monochrome, beige, tan, cream and grey seemed to be the main colours of her wardrobe – so I found a beautiful cream, beige and grey scarf I thought she could wear on little outings with Emilia.
I then wanted to treat Kirstie to a little something to go with her ‘relaxing’ candle, so came across a lovely l’Occitane Verbena liquid Soap and a tin of Crabtree & Evelyn Tea (as I’d spotted that Kirstie is quite a tea fan).
I had so much fun exploring the John Lewis website, finding things I thought (well, hoped) Kirstie would love.
For me, Kirstie kindly chose a dainty silver wishbone necklace by Estella Bartlett – a brand I adore and have actually gifted other friends wth before! She also chose a gorgeous rose gold Cluse watch which has hardly left my wrist since it arrived. It has a slim strap and a minimalistic white face which I love and can easily be dressed up or down with any outfit. I also love that the strap is fully adjustable – I have fairly small wrists, and it’s pretty frustrating having to visit a jeweller to get links removed from watches so make them fit, but this Cause strap allows you to adjust the size as you please.
I love the gifts that Kirstie selected for me, and thoroughly enjoyed shopping for her.
Do you love shopping for gifts for others? Is John Lewis one of your go-to stores too?
