My Urban Veda Favourites

Urban Veda Radiance Day Cream

I first discovered Urban Veda back in late 2013 when the brand first launched – soon after the launch of in fact. The Urban Veda launch event was actually the first ever blogging event I went to, and I absolutely loved it. It’s safe to say I completely fell in love with the brand, as four years later… I’m now their Marketing Manager!

As someone who is utterly skincare obsessed (I even have a degree in it), I am very much in my element. I pretty much live and breathe the brand, so I thought I’d take you through some of my favourite products.

The Brand:

For those of you who haven’t heard me chatter away about it before, Urban Veda is a natural skincare brand based on the ancient principles of Ayurveda. Before encountering Urban Veda, I had never heard of Ayurveda quite honestly, but Ayurveda is an ancient Indian holistic wellbeing system based on living in a balanced way. I now find Ayurveda absolutely fascinating and have since read numerous books and articles on it.

Urban Veda is both a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly brand with both face and body care products for every skin type and every dosha type (head to if you have no idea what I’m talking about). In addition to being based on Ayurveda, the products are also inspired by aromatherapy, which means the ranges smell INCREDIBLE whilst giving you amazing results.

The entire range is free from animal-derived ingredients, SLS, mineral oil, parabens, microbeads, genetically modified ingredients and artificial colours.

Something I love about Urban Veda is that there isn’t just one ‘holy grail’ product that everyone raves about. The ranges and individual products seem to really divide people and I’m forever coming across people with completely different favourite products to me. What’s funny is, everyone seems so passionate about which products they like best and which ingredients they are drawn to. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of seeing someone’s face light up when they discover Urban Veda for the first time.

My Top 3:

As I said, everyone is different, but I thought I’d tell you about my three favourite products and why I’m so obsessed with them.

Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish

The Radiance range is a whole is the one I personally am most drawn to, it’s also designed for my dosha type too: Vata. It has been formulated with turmeric to naturally brighten dull and tired skin.

The Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish is the perfect exfoliator in my eyes. It has the most amazing texture: a fine scrub which is gentle but also incredibly effective at removing dead skin cells, but it’s also creamy which makes it a dream to massage into your skin. Radiance Facial polish is also free from microbeads (tiny plastic particles which harm our oceans) and instead uses natural exfoliant walnut shell power.

I use the Radiance Exfoliating Facial polish twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays if you’re wondering) and it’s a product I really look forward to using as it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and deeply cleansed.

Radiance Body Lotion

I’m not a body lotion person. I am incredibly impatient and am therefore not someone who is keen to wait around for a product to absorb before getting dressed. Radiance Body Lotion, however, has completely changed my view on (not all) body lotions. Despite feeling really luxurious when applied, it somehow fully absorbs into my skin faster than any other body product I have ever tried (and let’s face it, I’m almost addicted to trying new products). It’s the only body moisturiser I have ever fully used a bottle of, and the only one I reach for. I’ve changed from being someone who only applies moisturiser to my legs reluctantly on the rare occasion my bare legs are on display, to being someone who applies body lotion to every inch of skin every single day. I love how well it works, I love the warming scent, I love the powerful ingredients inside, and I love how silky (and not tacky) it leaves my skin.

Reviving Facial Oil

As the newest addition to the Urban Veda product range, the four facial oils have received a lot of attention recently. 100% natural, they have slightly different scents to the rest of the product ranges but still smell heavenly, and ‘which is the best facial oil?’ is an on-going discussion in the office! Quite honestly, they’re all fantastic, which is why the team can never agree on this!

My current favourite is the Reviving Facial Oil. Designed for all dosha types and drier and more mature skin types, it’s based on rose and jasmine and has the most calming and delicate scent. It’s absolutely bursting with incredible actives and Ayurvedic extracts, and is a delight to use as part of my skincare regime. Facial Oils can be used in a number of ways, but I personally like to apply 2-3 drops to my hands to warm the oil, then I press it into my skin before massaging in. This is a calming ritual which also gives you a moment to really inhale the essential oils whilst the ingredients absorb into your skin. I use my facial oil every morning before makeup (it creates a wonderful base for foundation) and every evening before I go to bed, but I know some of my colleagues also add a drop or two to their favourite moisturiser.

Facial Oils are something I thoroughly recommend, if it is something you’ve not tried before – they lock in moisture incredibly well and leave the skin glowing, radiant and healthy.

I have to admit, picking out my top 3 products was much harder than I expected (I’m obsessed with more products than I realised). I also like using different products at different stages of the year. If you haven’t tried Urban Veda before and want to find out which dosha type you are (and therefore which range to use), they’ve got a helpful quiz here: DOSHA QUIZ

Once you’ve discovered your dosha and therefore which range is best suited to you, you can treat yourself to a huge 25% off your shop if you use my exclusive Urban Veda discount code: LOTTIE25  (

I’m also super excited to announce that Urban Veda is officially launched into Boots! Stocked online and in-store.
